I would love to see a photo. I think there should be a personal story on the pieces in your home and the button table is a perfect example of telling your personal story!Theresa Cheekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11429069123185290732noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1751627818853797065.post-89514796409268113552009-09-11T15:06:14.484-05:002009-09-11T15:06:14.484-05:00Catherine,

I have always said my home is done in the style of "Coco Chanel twenty years after the money was gone". Madeleine Castaing was a big believer in this. She loved the process of deterioration on fabric and paint. Yes, mirrors and frames are two things you can't have too many of in a room setting!Theresa Cheekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11429069123185290732noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1751627818853797065.post-91568405447424222042009-09-11T08:26:08.655-05:002009-09-11T08:26:08.655-05:00I, too, love gilded mirrors and frames. One of the...I, too, love gilded mirrors and frames. One of the wackiest/trampiest? things I have done was to gild a small table (perfect size I needed to squeeze in a lamp where I needed one). It had a nice curved apron and after gilding, I encrusted the apron with buttons. Buttons are sentimental objects in my family, and I think of them as little pieces of sculpture. Oh, any little glint will do! Really, I love the grandeur of it all. Particularly faded grandeur. Dull, mottled, peeling - who cares? Actually, that sounds a little like me! Ha ha!
Cheers!
Catherineceeceehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15962254736526651858noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1751627818853797065.post-40900386110137703452009-09-10T22:49:14.795-05:002009-09-10T22:49:14.795-05:00Theresa-I love gold mirrors and frames.Theresa-I love gold mirrors and frames.Beth Connollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10443450944645563476noreply@blogger.com
