Chinoiserie Christmas....

Who said Christmas decorations had to be candy canes and gingerbread men?

Personally, I have a chinoiserie themed tree.....

Paper umbrellas, dragons, gingko leaves and koi fish are some of the decorations used....

Lotus shoes (for bound feet) instead of traditional stockings.....

No Santa hat here....
How cute is this child's embroidered hat featuring a tiger to ward off evil spirits...?

More dragons to the right of the tree as well....

Even my Fortuny lampshade blends well with the theme....

I hope your holidays are merry....and bright....and that you are thankful and hopeful for the year to come! Merry Christmas!

Love this. The lampshade is my favorite. How refreshing that you and Beth make the holidays glow to your own guiding light.

By the way, Little Augury had nailed me for an Honest Scrap "commenter" award and I finally delivered today. I'm never going to have my own blog—too much work—but I thought of you on a few of my remarks. Namely the Sarah Palin I can see Russia...and having to work on my accent.

I don't know how to say happy holidays in Chinese. But Merry Christmas, ya'll.

I absolutely love your Christmas knows no boundaries decor! What great colors, textures and interest your brought to the season. The bursts of orange, the shoes for stockings and playing off the Fortuny lampshades...all total eye candy for someone like me who craves the unusual. Such creativity and elegance...I have a lot of Asian art and accessories and you just may have inspired my next year's decor ~ I always have to elevate my living room tree off the floor and in the past have used an huge antique fishbowl to hold the tree but the theme kind of stopped there...but thanks to your rich and inspiring display,I can just envision it now fully played out. I hope your Christmas was wonderful and that you are continuing to enjoy the festivities of the season. May much happiness and abundance find you in the New Year. ~jermaine~
