Viva Il Papa!

Paxton Gate! When in San Francisco a few weeks ago, I took time to visit their wonderful shop.

I have wanted a Jeanie M  taxidermied mouse for over a year.....now was my chance to take one home...

After gathering up some porcupine quills, I went to the glass case and decided on the Papal Mouse....my home has a lot of Italian influence and he seemed to speak to me...

Due to their fragile nature, (and , the fact I own cats!) I bought a glass cloche to keep Il Papa safe..

Paxton Gate is a shop of curiosities, garden plants and quirky collectibles..

The outside of the shop is just as interesting...monkeys abound in the painted vinery.

If a Hamlet mouse or a Bride and Groom mouse set are still not enough for you, how about medieval armour for your mouse?

This might have to be my next quest!

Dear Theresa, A taxidermied Mouse? In your House?

Have a lovely weekend my charming friend.

Oh, yes Gina! I have always had a "thing" for mice!

I'm not sure that glass cage or the taxidermy can eradicate that tempting (to cats) mouse smell. Your little guy looks like Stuart Little!

Too funny, Theresa! I Wonder if there's a Devil mouse? Another good reason to revisit SF.

What a great shop! There must be some interesting nooks and crannies to be looked into there. Enjoy your newest treasure!

Oh Theresa why didn't you tell me you were in San Francisco? I'm so disappointed I didn't know. I would have loved to have you over :(
I wonder if I have been to Paxton Gate? It seems somehow familiar but I'm not sure. Now I must make it a point to go. Did you see the movie Dinner with Schmucks? If not, you must! I think you new treasure is in it!!!!
Sounds like you are having a wonderful summer :)

Teri,
It was my first time to visit my daughter since she moved there soooo.....not much time for anything else! I am planning my next trip out around Alameda and was hoping we could meet there or in the city? I will contact you when I get it set for the fall.

I can't believe you got that cute little mouse...I love Paxton Gate! They used to offer classes on HOW TO taxidermy a mouse. My older daughter and I wanted to take it so badly but could never work it into our trips North. Hope you had a wonderful visit, Theresa.
