Roughing It.....

Don't you just love tents?

Stockholm
Not  Boy Scout versions .....

Really  decorative ones with wooden tassels and painted ornamentation.

I would love to have a tent like this as well!

Melanie Royals made this incredible stenciled tent!

Sir Richard Burton is buried in a tent in the United Kingdom....

Even the guard shack at Versailles is a tent!

My friend Helen Morris beat me to the punch and made this fabulous tent for herself. I really want to make one...this is my kind of "roughing it"!

One of my favorite stops at Washington, D.C.'s Smithsonian is to look at George Washington's tent from Valley Forge. It's a white oval with red trim, and it's in amazingly good condition.

Dear Theresa, I share your love for tents. I have been in the Melanie Royal stencilled tent at Peacock Pavilions in Marrakech. My favorite is the Stockholm tent..would love to own a smaller version.

So inspirational as ever, Theresa! I started to love tents since my first trip to Morocco. Your friend's tent is a great inspiration !

My little dinner tent!!! What a nice surprise to see it. The one that Melanie made is fab and so is the yellow and green one. Have you seen the film of Jane Austen's Emma. Gwyneth Paltrow?? Anyway, lovely tents in the garden scene.
I am hoping to stencil a new one this year. IKEA have come up with a nice range of outdoor lights that look like indoor ones so I can illuminate the tent and the surrounding trees with them.

Love tents! Theresa, this was an unexpected artistic surprise...I guess I haven't thought about tents from a decorative artist view. But I will now! fun.

Cool tents! Loving that Stockholm tent.

My hubbie decorates three or four fabulous versions for weddings and events every year, but their beauty is short-lived as they are taken down and removed the next day. All that work- gone. Just memories...

Those are very dreamy tents!

Somewhere I have pictures of a tent here in Vienna.
Now, where and when, that is the question. ;-)

Oh I would love that round tent.
Years ago we had an awning by the pool with wooden tassels. They give a beautiful look on the greek key pattern.

I would love to see what you decide for a tent of your own. What a fun project that would be!
